I’m proud of Jorge and Jenny Wieneke for organizing a major bazaar for Kalye Negosyo graduates and partners. Pulling off such an event is no small feat, but they made it happen with their mission to help micro and small business owners thrive. It was an honor to be at the ribbon-cutting ceremony and witness them kick off the event.
Let’s face it: business is tough. It’s a jungle out there, and if you’re not careful, you might find yourself surrounded by the wrong crowd. You know the type—those who are all take and no give. But if you want to thrive, you need to surround yourself with the right people.
Keep It Real
When it comes to networking, authenticity is your best friend. Don’t be that person who’s only interested in what others can do for you. Instead, flip the script. Focus on what you can do for them. It’s a simple shift, but it makes all the difference. People can smell a phony a mile away, and trust me, it’s not a good look.
Credibility is King
Helping others without expecting anything in return is a surefire way to build credibility. It’s like putting good vibes out into the universe—they come back to you. People start to notice that you’re the real deal, and they respect you for it. Over time, this builds a solid reputation that money can’t buy.
Choose Wisely
Not all connections are created equal. Be strategic about who you let into your inner circle. Look for folks who challenge you, inspire you, and maybe even make you laugh a little. These are the people who will help you grow and push you toward success.
Long-Term Wins
Remember, networking is a marathon, not a sprint. Building genuine relationships takes time, but the payoff is worth it. Your network becomes a safety net, a support system, and a source of endless opportunities. So, keep it real, give more than you take, and watch as your business—and your life—flourish.
